What's hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a translucent substance that occurs naturally in the human body, mainly in the skin, connective tissues and eyes. Like collagen, produced by the same cells, its main function is to preserve the elasticity of the skin. However, its production declines with age, usually after the age of 30.¹
This substance is present in many skin care products to reduce the signs of aging and moisturize the skin. The first treatments based on hyaluronic acid appeared in the 1970s. At the time, this substance was mainly of animal origin, since it was extracted from the crests of roosters.
What’s (phyto)glycogen?
Glycogen is a less well-known molecule than hyaluronic acid, but it does not make it any less performant, quite the contrary! Although it has remained more discreet than its counterpart, its popularity is growing due to its multiple benefits. Its hydrating powers are also scientifically recognized, as is its role in reducing the signs of aging.
Why choose phytoglycogen?
The phytoglycogen contained in our products is derived from plants, and more precisely from non-GMO corn. It is therefore completely vegan, unlike glycogen, which is mostly extracted from crustaceans. Clinically tested, we chose this ingredient because it is more hydrating than hyaluronic acid in the long term* by releasing its water gradually. It also helps to reduce the signs of aging*, enhance the radiance of the skin and soothe it* . In short, it is the ideal ingredient for all skin types and a must to integrate into your beauty routine, with the products of the Oceanly™ range.
