Cleaning naturally: how to best use ATTITUDE cleaners

Finding a good cleaning product has become a real headache: what ingredients to avoid, how to decipher the labels and more. Ingredients in cleaning products

Along with emissions from factories and cars, cleaning and body care products are now among the leading causes of pollution and health problems associated with poor air quality. Who are the culprits? Volatile organic compounds like carbon, chlorine or sulphur emissions. The latter are suspected of irritating the airways and causing several respiratory problems. Also, once released into the atmosphere, they form ground-level ozone, causing smog. In addition, a scientific study out of Norway, published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine in February 2018, showed that women who used cleaning products (at home or professionally) every day for decades had greatly diminished lung capacity later in life. According to the study, the daily use of cleaners was the equivalent of smoking up to two packs of cigarettes a day for 20 years!

ALL PURPOSE CLEANER

Its purpose: Multipurpose cleaner that can be used on several types of surfaces. Clean your house, car, barbecue, desk, exercise equipment, yoga mat and more! It also cuts grease without leaving streaks and is completely safe on food-contact surfaces. Its action: The surfactants it contains (caprylyl glucoside and myristyl glucoside) give it its degreasing properties. These have short carbon chains, which help dislodge dirt quickly by making it soluble. Our team’s tips: ● “The All Purpose Cleaner is great for cleaning your car’s rims and tires.” — Hans, Vice-President of R&D ● “My kids use it to clean the dashboard of the car!” — Rob, Vice-President, EMEA Sales ● “I use it to clean my BBQ. It works really well!” — Mélissa, Vice-President of Sales

KITCHEN CLEANER

Its purpose: An effective degreaser, adapted to the residues left behind on kitchen surfaces, ATTITUDE’s Kitchen Cleaner is ideal for counters and different cooktops and stovetops, including ceramic glass. It cuts through oily surfaces and is tough on cooking residues. Its action: Kitchen Cleaner contains the same surfactants as All Purpose Cleaner, plus lauryl glucoside (another surfactant). Lauryl glucoside has a long carbon chain that emulsifies grease and lifts cooking fats from surfaces. No water needed. Our team’s tips: ● “I get my ceramic glass cooktop gleaming with Kitchen Cleaner. It easily removes grease without leaving streaks!” — Mélissa, Vice-President of Sales ● “I use it every day to clean up all the food under my child’s high chair!” — Myriam, Marketing Manager ● “I use it to clean my cat’s litterbox.” — Elisa, R&D Scientist

WINDOW AND MIRROR CLEANER

Its purpose: High-performance spray cleaner that leaves no visible trace. Spray on and then wipe off with a dry cloth for a sparkling finish. Good for the whole family. Its action: Contains non-ionic short carbon chain surfactants for quick action and zero streaks (thanks to the solvent-surfactant balance). Our team’s tips: ●“I clean my CDs with Window and Mirror Cleaner.” — Guillaume, Web Manager

BATHROOM CLEANER

Its purpose: Safe on all bathroom surfaces: ceramic tiles, tubs, vinyl shower curtains, shower doors and toilet bowls. Its action: The more acidic pH makes it easier to dislodge soap residues and stubborn grime. Bathroom Cleaner contains citric acid, which makes it more soluble and quickly lifts mold and mildew, limescale and soap scum. Our team’s tips: ● “The Bathroom Cleaner is a miracle product for removing mold and mildew, whether in the bathroom or on patio furniture.” — Mélissa, Vice-President, Sales ● “I use it to clean my plastic patio chairs and tables.” — Hans, Vice-President of R&D ● “This is my go-to product for cleaning bath toys.” — Myriam, Marketing Manager

DAILY SHOWER CLEANER

Its purpose: This product was developed to eliminate and prevent soap scum and water stains from forming. Simply spray on after every shower for daily maintenance. No scrubbing, rinsing or wiping required! To remove accumulated soap residue, spray on and then remove excess with a squeegee or cloth. Its action: Daily Shower Cleaner contains sodium gluconate, a chelating agent that neutralizes water ions. This helps more easily remove soap scum and prevent limescale deposits. Our team’s tips: ● “One of my friends uses it in his shower every day. That way, he only has to do a deep clean once a month. What a time-saver!” — Hans, Vice-President of R&D

FLOOR SURFACES, TILES AND WOOD CLEANER

Its purpose: This product naturally cleans all floor surfaces without leaving streaks. Dilute it with water for washing floors or use full-concentration in your toilet bowl. Perfect for homes with young children or pets. Its action: This cleaner is more concentrated than the other products since it is made to be diluted. This is also why it contains chelating agents. Our team’s tips: ● “Let the little screens found in your faucet soak in a glass filled with Floor Surfaces, Tiles and Wood Cleaner to remove limescale deposits.” — Rob, Vice-President of EMEA Sales
