Glycerin

Glycerin, also known under the name of glycerol, is a non-toxic, odorless, and colorless viscous liquid. This plant-based ingredient retains humidity at the level of the skin.

What is Glycerin?

Its name comes from the Greek “glykeros” which means sweet. Glycerin is obtained by saponification of certain vegetable oils such as coconut, palm, rapeseed, or sunflower oil. This method is commonly used in soap-making, involving the conversion of a blend of fatty substances and a potent base such as sodium hydroxide.

The benefits of Glycerin

Glycerin stands out for its many benefits. It maintains the natural hydration of the skin while giving a feeling of softness. Known for its moisturizing and humectant properties, it protects the epidermis from external aggressions and keeps it in good condition.

How to use Glycerin?

This naturally occurring ingredient is found in many personal care products for its capacity to maintain the humidity of the epidermis. Known as a skin conditioner, glycerin is one of the key ingredients in leaves bar and Oceanly face care lines.
